Oniomania (Compulsive Buying Disorder)

Oniomania, or compulsive buying disorder, is characterized by an obsessive desire to acquire items and the compulsive execution of this behavior. There is little regard for the necessity of the purchased item, future use, or existing savings. The goal and mechanism of addiction, similar to other addictions, involve intense sensations.
